about

"This collection of electric guitar improvisations was inspired by the fantasy of a cross-country train expedition, recorded in the midst of pandemic isolation in late 2020 and early 2021. My grandfather was a dedicated railroad worker for over 35 years with the Bangor & Aroostook line, including being the representative for the United Way for their social and civic events. Some of the clearest memories I have of early childhood are my Pepere LaJoie playing the role of Santa Claus for these railroad events; pictured in this album's cover art are shots from the annual "Turkey Train" Thanksgiving ride. He passed from this world last month, my last surviving grandparent, and I always planned the release of Aroostook Flyer as a special dedication to his memory. It is being offered here as a free download, with hopes of extending the devotion to generosity he carried throughout his life to an audience that never had the chance to meet him."
