A raw and real document of my first solo performance outside of Maine since March 2020—and my first show of any kind in Boston in exactly three years—Live From The Lilypad presents a freewheeling electric guitar set captured casually to iPhone Voice Memo on the evening of November 12, 2022. As the opening act of a heady birthday party bash for Mass psych lifer Kris "Trip" Thompson, I wove ambient and free-improv threads through and between segments of composed riffage ("Plane of Return"; "Copper Basin") and a middle section of drum-machine-aided, slow-motion psychedelic groove. The Lilypad has long been one of the most supportive locales for my music in both solo and group form, no matter how "out" I choose to go, and returning to that spot after a long drought was an uplifting experience that I am excited to share more broadly through this humble, digital-only, subscriber-exclusive release.
