The first Fields was an overlooked gem among Flower Room's releases. Part 2 is even better with a greatly expanded soundworld to play in, both in terms of drones & field recordings.
Favorite track: digital bonus track - EcoField #4 (Midday Wind and Waves at Seawall Beach, Morse Mountain Nature Preserve, ME).

Flower Room's second "Fields" installment returns focus to the "virtual rurality" and "sonic sage cleansing" tenets of their mission statement. Nearly doubling the length of tape from the Fields (one)'s running time (quadruple the length if you count the two bonus EcoFields included with download), these all new environments are an invitation to become immersed in an even deeper meditative, restorative experience.
Side one features a simple, mantric sitar figure played hundreds of times over a half hour, with two separate live takes played back simultaneously and panned completely in the stereo field. The result is a shimmering, reverberating, 360-degree string drone rich in harmonic resonance, hypnotic with its circular patterns and layers. We encourage its use to support free-vocalization, mantra chanting, relaxation, meditation, yoga, and focus.
Side two is a stereo field recording of a babbling brook (Little River, in Gorham, Maine) captured at sunrise in August. The unbroken stream travels left-to-right in the stereo field, placing the listener directly in the "now" between past and future, supporting any need to "go with the flow" while also offering a fearless connection to the emotions via the water element. Nature field recordings are a powerful tool for grounding, and are recommended listening whenever there is too little Earth element or too much Fire, Water, Air, or Ether present in the body.
Two additional field recordings sourced from Starbirthed's "With the Mother" release (fro-o36) are included as digital bonus tracks; the offerings of birdsong and ocean waves provide even more options to strengthen your connection to the Earth at any time and in any season.

Williams' music is narrative storytelling in instrumental form, a stunning achievement that stands alone in the solo guitar canon. A singular vision & style, and inspiration for each to likewise seek. Flower Room
Hunter's unique blend of harp, voice, field recordings & ambient electronics made Spells our favorite tape of 2020, and this new vinyl edition (with 2 top-tier vinyl-exclusive tracks) is perfection. Flower Room
One of our favorite contemporary artists crafts his ambient-jazz masterwork. Timeless piano melodies loop and brush up against complex and endlessly intriguing beats, with cosmic swaths of synth atop. Flower Room
Beautifully hushed compositions employ ambient keys, tender acoustic guitars, and atmospherics in songs that reflect on the last year. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 22, 2021
